Schoenherr is celebrating 30 years in Romania, marking three decades of advising businesses and investors and supporting them through the evolution of the Romanian economy and business environment.

Schoenherr established its presence in Romania in 1996, becoming one of the first international law firms to enter the local market. Since then, the firm has grown alongside Romania's economy, supporting clients through major developments, including market liberalisation, Romania's accession to the European Union, and the emergence of new industries and investment opportunities.

Over three decades, Schoenherr has developed a strong Romanian business law practice, with a team of almost 80 lawyers advising clients across a broad range of industries and legal matters. The firm has built long-standing relationships with both international investors and Romanian companies, while working closely with Schoenherr's teams across Central Eastern Europe on increasingly complex cross-border matters.

Romania also holds a special place in Schoenherr's international development: the Bucharest office was the firm's first international office and marked an important step in its expansion across Central Eastern Europe.

On Thursday, 24 September 2026, Schoenherr marked the anniversary with a celebration in Bucharest, bringing together the firm's team in Romania, clients and colleagues from across Schoenherr's international network. The event offered an opportunity to celebrate three decades of Schoenherr's presence in Romania and, above all, the relationships, collaboration and shared experiences that have shaped the firm's journey over the years.
