At the 23rd edition of the Civil Society Gala, Merci Charity association, a recent member of AmCham Romania, was awarded Second Prize in the Health category for the project: “Prevention and dental treatment for children with oncological conditions in the mobile dental clinic.”
A total of 182 child patients from the “Prof. Dr. Alexandru Trestioreanu” Bucharest Oncology Institute were examined and treated in the mobile dental clinic. Over the course of 688 hours, the team performed 1,072 dental procedures. On average, the team performed six dental interventions per child. The total value of the interventions provided in the mobile clinic amounted to 303,924 lei. This would normally be a cost borne by the child’s family if the treatments had been sought in a private dental clinic.
