During the first ten months of this year more than 4,600 patients with incurable diseases sought support at HOSPICE Casa Sperantei. Patients from all over the country, a major part of them coming from hundreds of kilometers away just to receive the care they need, and they did not find closer to their home.

Weakened by cancer, burdened by isolation, failed by the system, these people have received at HOSPICE the medical care, social, psychological, and spiritual support. Free of charge and unconditionally.

Over 10.500 medical care visits were provided by HOSPICE teams to patient’s homes since the beginning of this year, with an added 8,900 hospital days in our Brasov and Bucharest hospitals. There were also more than 5,500 social interventions in supporting the families of both children and adult patients, as well as almost 3,000 psychological support sessions.

Behind these figures are people in distress, who have turned to the foundation, asking for help. And, supporting them are every sponsor and donor who has chosen to stand in solidarity with the adults and children fighting the hardest battle of their lives.

Thinking about all of them, HOSPICE Casa Speranței launched the campaign “At HOSPICE every little help is great”. https://bit.ly/3wQQrbB

"For 29 years, we have been writing together this story of solidarity, a story in which we cannot exist without each other. It is the touching story not only of those who need help and who are going through dramatic situations, but also the story of those who find the strength to help from the little they have.

It is the story of grandparents who come to donate to HOSPICE, as well as the story of grandchildren donating for the care of their grandparents. It is the story of the entrepreneurs, who struggled for almost 2 years now, but who still found the resources to help the most vulnerable of us. At HOSPICE, every little help is great,” said Mirela Nemțanu, executive director of HOSPICE Casa Speranţei.

Companies can support patients with incurable diseases cared for by the HOSPICE Casa Sperantei foundation through the tax facility that allows them to direct up to 20% of the corporate or income tax owed to the state by December 31. The funds raised this way will ensure the continuity of free palliative care needed by more and more patients in Romania.

Individuals can also get involved through monthly donations by sending text messages to 8864 with the text TIMP (4 euros) or directly on the website of the foundation www.hospice.ro/doneaza/. The value of a single message ensures, for example, the transport of the medical team to a patient's home.
