Dăruiește Viață, the NGO behind the #NoiFacemUnSpital initiative – building a Children’s Hospital only through donations and sponsorships, celebrates a major milestone of the project: finalizing the construction of the first building and donating it to the Marie Curie Hospital, in order for it to become functional at the beginning of 2024.

For the first time in the past 30 years, in Romania, Dăruiește Viață has built a Children’s Hospital that will offer patient care at Western European standards, with the support of over 350,000 individual donors and over 7,000 corporate sponsors. The Association wants this initiative to be a model that will kickstart a reform in the healthcare system.

Initially meant as a three-story clinic, the project has turned into a Hospital with a surface of approx. 12,000sqm, 9 levels and a capacity of +140 beds. Beyond the building itself, #NoiFacemUnSpital brings a set of firsts to the Romanian medical system, to offer children extra chances of living: the first Pediatric Radiotherapy Department, an operating theatre built entirely from glass, technology, training for the medical staff, beds for parents, spaces dedicated to children (cinema, radio studio, playgrounds).

However, the Association’s aim is to continue the project, both in terms of generating public policies that will drastically change the Romanian healthcare system, and in building state-of-the-art infrastructure to create the first medical campus in Romania dedicated to excellence.

1. By using Form D177 until December 25, to redirect the funds available for sponsorships and unallocated in 2022,
2. By redirecting 20% of your company’s tax for 2023 until December 31.
