Eturia and Catalin Gruia, chief-editor of National Geographic and NG Traveler Romania, challenge you to adventure.
Alongside an experienced Eturia tour leader, the best local guides and, of course, Catalin Gruia as a special guest, we will have unusual and authentic experiences. Throughout the entire journeys, Catalin will share with us the secrets of a journalist's job, and together we will create real-time stories for www.natgeo.ro
This year, we are discovering Peru, Rwanda & Uganda, Indonesia and Myanmar together in four daring expeditions.
Peru
“We start in June, just in time for Inti Raymi - the Inca Festival of the Sun. The peruan capital - Lima, the Ballestas Islands, the Nazca lines and Cusco - the centre of the Inca world, are our next targets. We will not miss the unique Machu Picchu, nor the jungle in Puerto Maldonado.” Catalin Gruia

Rwanda & Uganda
“We explore African parks and wildlife reserves in search of mountain gorillas, chimps, golden monkeys, climbing lions. Being in a good shape and having trekking equipment are a must on this route with rough and swampy surface most of the time. We also have on the list, the exuberant capitals Kigali and Kampala.” Catalin Gruia

Indonesia
“We discover the local nature, culture and cuisine. We start from the capital of Jakarta, we explore the Gunung Leuser National Park chasing the footsteps of the orangutans, we continue with the cities of Jogjakarta and Surabaya, then take a trip to Komodo Island to see the dragons, and we end our adventure in Ubud, with its typical Balinese charm.” Catalin Gruia

Myanmar
“We are visiting a less known destination. We start with Mandalay, the main Buddhist art and cultural centre in the country, we travel to Bagan's stupas and pagodas, then we reach the famous Lake Inle. The icing on the cake is Yangon - the former capital.” Catalin Gruia

“In 2019 I will travel as a special guest on 4 group journeys organised by Eturia, in Peru, Rwanda & Uganda, Indonesia and Myanmar. And I could use travelers who are fearless, curious and passionate for destinations that are in line with National Geographic Traveler's philosophy, destinations from where we will gather experiences, photos and travel stories for www.natgeo.ro.” Catalin Gruia
