American Councils Romania is currently looking for a welcoming host family for a 34-year-old American student who will be in Romania from August 15 to September 5, 2026, to participate in an intensive Romanian language program.

What does hosting involve?

Host families are asked to:

• Provide accommodation for the duration of the stay
• Offer two meals per day (breakfast and dinner)
• Welcome the student into their daily family life
• Maintain open communication, with ongoing support provided by our team
• Receive a stipend to help cover related expenses

About the student

The student is a sociable, friendly, and highly motivated adult learner with a background in the military. He already has experience living in an international environment in Romania and is eager to deepen his understanding of the Romanian language and culture. He is respectful, open-minded, a non-smoker, and has no food allergies.

Hosting is a meaningful cultural exchange experience, an opportunity to connect with someone from a different background while contributing to their integration and learning journey in Romania.
