Business Review Acknowledged as One of Romania’s Quality Brands at the Superbrands Gala

by Business-Review April 23, 2014

Business Review was awarded by Superbrands Romania the Certificate of Excellence “for branding in business journalism,” at the “Superbrands Gala – Romania on Stage”, Tuesday evening, at the Marriott Hotel.

Business Review was chosen as one of the three Superbrands Romanian Guest Brand– a title that acknowledges “a brand which is representative for its market segment” – together with ArtMark and Neuhaus.

The event that brought together more than 100 guests marked the completion of Superbrands Program 2013/2014 run by Superbrands Romania. According to the evaluation methodology definition, a Superbrand is “a brand that represents quality and is reliable and distinctive.”

“We are proud and honored that the high standards of business journalism our publication has been upholding since its very beginning, in 1998, have been recognized and validated by the Superbrands Romania, a program which brings together experts in the field,” said Anca Ionita, publisher of Business Review. “I congratulate the editorial and events teams for keeping those standards unaltered, despite the challenging times the local media has been going through, over the past six years. I thank the Superbrands team for selecting Business Review as one of the quality brands in Romania”, she added.

At its sixth edition in Romania, the program awarded 34 out of a total of some 300 brands that were given the Superbrands 2013/2014 status acknowledging excellence in branding. Among them were brands such as Aqua Carpatica, Borsec, Catena, Carturesti, Floriol, Raiffesen Bank, Rigips, Mobexpert and Gerovital.

The program has been run in Romania for the past nine years by the strategic communication company BDR Associates, which was also the organizer of the gala event.

The brands eligible for the Superbrands status are chosen according to an international methodology that combines the evaluation of a group of experts – the Superbrands Council – with that of the local consumers. This year, the Council made an initial qualitative evaluation of 1395 brands in 52 categories, according to the three major indicators: Quality – Reliability – Distinctiveness. Some 1,500 consumers from all urban communities in Romania were invited to evaluate the 578 brands that qualified in the final, under a market research developed with the help of Ipsos.
