The Embassy of the United States of America and the American Councils for International Education invites you to join the sixth edition of the 4/4ForFriends project. Inspired by the thoughts of the remarkable American activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr: “Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others? ”, we want to dedicate the period from April 1 to 10 to community and good deeds.
In 2024, a significant election year for democracy, we are focusing on activities that encourage civic spirit and engagement. We invite you to join our efforts to develop democracy and to highlight the importance of the right to vote, a powerful tool for fighting injustice and breaking down the barriers that divide us.
We want to honor the impressive legacy left by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and celebrate nationally the values of volunteerism and friendship. Following the model of the United States of America, which celebrates Volunteer Month in April, 4/4ForFriends is intended to recognize the work volunteers do on behalf of their fellow human beings.
We come together to create positive change wherever we are. Each year brings an increase in the number of volunteer activities enrolled in the project, and personal involvement in these activities will help cultivate civic engagement, tolerance, and social responsibility. The 6th edition of "4/4ForFriends" will also include a special online component dedicated to local coordinators and volunteers, with trainers from Romania and the USA.
If you are an NGO, local initiative group, school, college, university or other type of organization and would like to host or organize an event between 1 and 10 April, please complete this form by 10 March 2024:

Volunteering activities can be in any thematic area, online or offline, and dedicated to any type of target group. We are never too young or too old for a good deed, are we?
Each registered activity must have a single coordinator, who will be responsible for providing the volunteers needed to carry out the activity.
Representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Romania and the American Councils for International Education will participate in various activities on the ground, subject to availability.
