AmCham Romania Events The Artscape Intervention: The Neuroscience of Well-being and Productivity in the Workplace

AmCham Romania is pleased to invite members to a new seminar offered by SolvIT Networks, on June 17, 2026, between 16:00 – 17:30. Please note that this workshop will be an IN-PERSON event, organized at AmCham Office (11 Ion Campineanu Street, Union International Center, 4th floor).

In today’s high-pressure corporate landscape, cognitive fatigue, burnout, and disengagement are among the greatest threats to organizational success. Traditional wellness programs often fall short of creating deep, lasting shifts in employee mindset. But what if one of the keys to fostering focus, resilience, and a sense of belonging is already hardwired into our biology?

Welcome to The Artscape Intervention.

This seminar introduces an evidence-based approach to corporate culture: utilizing visual arts and creative practices as strategic tools to enhance the workplace environment and support a positive psychological state among employees.

We will explore the rapidly growing field of neuroaesthetics—the science of how the brain responds to art. Drawing on insights from the landmark World Health Organization (WHO) scoping review, we will discuss how engaging with the arts is strongly associated with stress recovery, emotional regulation, and psychological resilience. Furthermore, inspired by the research highlighted in the bestselling book Your Brain on Art (Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross), we will decode how surrounding employees with art and creative stimuli can support new neural pathways, translating directly into crucial workplace outcomes: enhanced lateral thinking, empathy, and deeper team engagement.

Research in neuroaesthetics—such as the studies conducted by Semir Zeki at University College London—suggests that viewing visual art can activate the brain's reward circuitry. In a corporate setting, this translates into creating environments that actively support positive mood, sustained attention, and a stronger connection to the company's culture.

During this session, we will reframe how you view the workplace, demonstrating that art in the office is not merely a decorative afterthought, but a strategic cultural intervention.

We will introduce the Artscape ecosystem—a comprehensive, turnkey corporate program that brings:

  • Curated Art Exhibitions: Transforming sterile office spaces into dynamic, cognitively restorative environments.
  • Creative Corporate Workshops: Hands-on sessions designed to break routine, encourage out-of-the-box thinking, and build authentic team cohesion.
  • Corporate Art Awards: Fostering a culture of appreciation, cultural patronage, and employer differentiation.

Key Takeaways for Attendees

  • The Science of Neuroaesthetics: Understand the basic neurological processes that occur when employees experience or create art, and how these processes support cognitive recovery.
  • Tracking Cultural ROI: Learn how aesthetic interventions can be evaluated through relevant workplace metrics: employee satisfaction, engagement pulse surveys, stress perception, participation rates, and internal culture feedback.
  • The Artscape Blueprint: Discover how to seamlessly integrate art exhibitions, interactive workshops, and art awards into your company’s existing HR and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategies.
  • Actionable Implementation: Step-by-step guidance on transitioning your workspace from a purely functional area to an environment that genuinely supports employee well-being.

Join us to discover how Artscape can help your company engineer a healthier, more inspired, and deeply engaged workforce through the transformative power of art.

"The arts are not a nice-to-have. They are a core component of a healthy, high-performing human environment."

— Daisy Fancourt, Associate Professor, UCL / WHO Europe Arts & Health
