Our Data Protection Task Force has the pleasure to invite AmCham members to a discussion on Data transfers, with special guests Odia Kagan, Partner and Chair of GDPR Compliance & International Privacy Practice at Fox Rothschild LLP, and Dr. Gabriela Zanfir-Fortuna, Vice-President for Global Privacy at the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF).

The online event will take place on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, between 16:00 pm - 17:30 pm.

This online meeting is part of our #DataPrivacyHour and is designed as a follow up to our "GDPR Year Four: Upcoming Challenges and Trends" conference which took place in early May this year.

Odia Kagan, Partner and Chair of GDPR Compliance & International Privacy Practice at Fox Rothschild LLP

Odia Kagan is a Partner and Chair of GDPR Compliance & International Privacy Practice at Fox Rothschild LLP, a US national law firm. Odia has advised more than 200 companies of varying industries and sizes on compliance with GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other US data protection laws. With an emphasis on a pragmatic, risk based approach, Odia provides clients with practical advice on how to design and implement their products and services in a compliant manner. Odia holds 3 law degrees, 5 bar admissions and 7 privacy certifications (CIPP/US/E, CIPM, CDPO, C-GDPR/P, FIP, PLS). Gabriela Zanfir-Fortuna, Vice-President for Global Privacy at the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF)

Dr. Gabriela Zanfir-Fortuna is Vice-President for Global Privacy at the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF), a think tank based in Washington DC with offices in Brussels, Singapore and Tel Aviv. Before joining FPF, she worked in Brussels for the European Data Protection Supervisor, including on files related to the adoption of the GDPR and of the EU-US Privacy Shield. Dr. Zanfir-Fortuna obtained her PhD in Juridical Studies (University of Craiova, 2013) with a thesis on the rights of individuals with regard to the protection of their personal data under EU law.
