Alexander Filip works with the Bavarian Data Protection Supervisory Authority for the Private Sector (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht), where he is Head of the Unit in charge with Central Internal Affairs as well as with key GDPR issues and with the transfer of personal data to third countries. Alexander has been a long-time representative for the German Data Protection Supervisory Authorities at the International Transfers Subgroup of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) and previously of the Article 29 Working Party. He has been a frequent rapporteur for the preparation of EDPB guidelines and other papers, in particular relating to transfers of personal data to third countries. Alexander regularly engages as a lecturer in the education of data protection officers (DPOs) and other privacy professionals, and is also an author of a number of publications on data protection.
