AmCham Romania Events Beyond Compliance: Transfer Pricing and Audit as Strategic Management Tools

AmCham Romania is pleased to invite members to a new seminar offered by Nowium Tax & Finance on May 19, 2026, between 15:30 – 17:00. Please note that this workshop will be an IN-PERSON event, organized at AmCham Office (11 Ion Campineanu Street, Union International Center, 4th floor).

We all know that transfer pricing and audit come with obligations, deadlines to meet and the risk of penalties. But our experience shows there is much more to it than that. We want to look beyond compliance. We want to show you how transfer pricing and audit, done right, can become real strategic tools for your business, ones that bring genuine value.

Transfer pricing can reveal where value is truly created in your group and whether the right people are being rewarded for it. Audit, on the other hand, can go far beyond ticking legal boxes. It can map your company's real processes, surface operational risks before they become crises, and highlight where resources are being wasted or controls are missing.

Done right, these aren't just compliance exercises. They're a compass for better decisions.

Speaker: Raluca Mihăilă

Bio: Raluca is the coordinating partner of the transfer pricing department. Tax consultant – member of the Chamber of Tax Consultants, CIOT (Chartered Institute of Taxation) certified in the field of transfer pricing, Raluca manages the Nowium’s transfer pricing team. With over 20 years of experience in the field of tax consulting, Raluca is involved in both transfer pricing projects and general advice on direct taxation. An English speaker, Raluca offers assistance to both Romanian and foreign clients, member companies of local and multinational groups, from various industries.

Speaker: Cristian Munteanu

Bio: Before joining the Nowium team at the end of 2025, Cristian worked for 15 years at a Big4 in the audit and assurance department, where he gained practical audit experience and technical knowledge related to statutory and international audits of large and small, public and private, national and international companies operating in various sectors. During this period, he was also seconded to a United States of America local office, working for 17 months in St. Louis, Missouri. Key areas of experience are: Retail, Pharma, Manufacturing, FMCG and Business Services. Cristian truly believes in the value of people and the power of collaboration. Over time, he has developed solid management skills, effectively coordinating teams and projects and maintaining a clear and organized perspective on objectives. Critical thinking is an essential pillar in his way of approaching challenges — he analyzes situations in depth, seeks balanced solutions and makes well-founded decisions. Cristian is financial auditor certified by the Statutory Audit Public Oversight Authority (ASPAAS), member of the Romanian Chamber of Financial Auditors (CAFR) and member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK (ACCA).

The discussions will be held in ROMANIAN.
