AmCham Health Delegation | Galați Business Week

AmCham Romania, in partnership with Galați City Hall, invites members to join a Health Delegation to Galați on Monday, October 19, 2026. 

Opening the first edition of the Galați Business Week, the AmCham delegation contributes to the overall agenda of supporting the opportunity and ambition of Galați to become a leading port and logistics hub on the Danube–Black Sea axis. A strategic point on the Rhine–Danube TEN-T corridor, Galați also aims to be a gateway for Ukraine's reconstruction.

In an area with intense flows of goods and people, a strong health system is no longer only a social need, but a condition for the region's economic competitiveness.

The AmCham Health Delegation on October 19 will include a healthcare policy event and site visits to two major local hospitals. It brings together Galați County hospitals, central and local authorities, academia and healthcare companies at both national and local levels for a practical policy-industry dialogue focused on identifying concrete recommendations and pn building partnerships between AmCham member companies and local decision-makers.

12:00 –15:30  | AmCham Health Policy event: Health System Resilience in a High-Transit Area and Multimodal Port (Unique Ballroom Events)

• Networking lunch with the local healthcare ecosystem and representatives of the authorities
• Panel 1 – The front line: prevention, surveillance and epidemiological response. How to turn a transit area into a sustainable hub rather than a point of risk.
• Panel 2 – From price to value: how we finance outcomes in healthcare. How the system can move from lowest-price purchasing to value- and outcome-based contracting.
• Conclusions and next steps

16:00 | Site visit to "Sf. Cuvioasa Parascheva" Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital or "Dr. Aristide Serfioti" Military Emergency Hospital

20:00 | Arrival in Bucharest

The AmCham Healthcare Committee leads the delegation and will moderate both panels. Participating members are welcome to contribute to the dialogue. The conference will be held in Romanian.
