Timken Romania

Timken Romania is the most modern bearing plant in Central and Eastern Europe. Established in 1979 under the name of Rulmenti Grei S.A, the plant in Ploiesti was set up to support the large bearing needs of the Romanian domestic market. Starting from 1997, when The Timken Company acquired major interest in Rulmenti Grei SA., the company turned its name into Timken Romania. Since then the investments made by The Timken Company on the Romanian market have raised to over $250 million (Ultra Large Bore Section included).

With a current staff counting 712 employees, Timken Romania is a global provider of products and services whose primary focus is to serve the markets with premium Timkenâ brand. Ploiesti products are supplied from three basic bearing types: tapered, cylindrical and spherical roller bearings, in the size range of 200 mm ID up to 3400 mm O.D. We also produce precision X-roller bearings. Traditional markets served include primary metals, non-metals, cement, mining, paper, power transmission, wind energy, off-highway and distribution. Our customers include GE Renewable Energy, MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, Danieli, SGRE (Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy), FLSmidth, Flender, Terex, SMS Group, Motion Industries.
