Established in 2006, Provident Financial Romania (PFR) is a non-banking financial institution (NBFI) listed in the Special Register of the National Bank of Romania. PFR is part of the British group International Personal Finance (IPF), which provides access to regulated finance in a transparent and responsible way for 1.7 million underserved consumers across nine countries and three continents. Headquartered in Leeds, United Kingdom, IPF was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2007 and took a secondary listing on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in March 2013.
Provident Financial Romania has built a reputation for responsible lending, offering customers financial products and services tailored to their circumstances, supporting them if they face difficulties, and creating opportunities to build a credit profile. In our 18 years of presence on the Romanian market, we have issued over €1.7 billion in loans and made a total direct investment of over €429 million. We have contributed €196 million to the state budget and paid over €213 million in wages to our employees. We now have more than 2,000 employees across the country.
Our vision is to make a difference in the everyday lives of our customers by offering simple and personalized financial products. In Romania, we provide small, unsecured, short-term loans to over 180,000 customers who are underserved by existing financial institutions. We lend responsibly by understanding our customers’ circumstances and offering appropriate products in a flexible and affordable way.
We promote inclusive and responsible lending and believe that meeting our corporate and social responsibilities is essential to maintaining sustainable business and delivering for our customers. Over the past years, we have supported various social responsibility programs in fields such as empowering socially vulnerable groups, financial education, and nurturing young talents from disadvantaged environments, investing over €1,700,000.
