Mazarine Energy Romania (MER) is part of Mazarine Energy BV, headquartered in The Netherlands, a private oil and gas exploration and production, founded by Edward van Kersbergen in 2013. MER acquired 19 producing oil and gas fields plus Gas to Power production facilities from OMV Petrom SA in late 2016. Various further growth and re-development activities have been identified by Mazarine Energy in these fields, which will increase production and reserves in the coming five years. As such, Mazarine Energy intends to be the leading independent petroleum operator specialized in mature field rehabilitation.
