The mission of the AmCham Romania Health Committee is to be a trusted partner for health authorities in terms of advocacy, expertise and link to EU business communities in order to improve the health care system in Romania.
Current areas of focus on the agenda of the AmCham Romania Health Committee:
- Increased healthcare financing – multiannual budget, increase % of GDP to meet EU average for healthcare financing, promoting alternative funding sources (private – voluntary health insurance and medical subscriptions, EU funding, clinical trials), widening the contribution base and promoting transparency of budgets and expenditures
- Unlock efficiency via healthcare digitalization – improving data transparency, promoting the use of digital solutions and services (telemedicine, electronic registries etc.) for improving delivery of healthcare while securing interoperability of platforms, under the umbrella of developing a national eHealth strategy and an Action Plan with clear goals and targets
- Advocate for increased access to innovative products & services – optimization of healthcare infrastructure, sustainable and predictable access to medication and medical devices, development of the National Cancer Control Plan and nurturing value-based healthcare principles
- Raise awareness on prevention & quality of life – promoting disease prevention and protection, healthcare education and pro-vaccination, sustainable immunization policies and dedicated programs to meet public health needs
