AmCham’s Education Committee focuses on the stringent problems of the Romanian higher-education system, promoting the need to fill the gap between students’ preparation and the labor market’s requirements nowadays.
In this respect, AmCham launched in May 2013 the Business-Academia Platform, whose vision and development were enhanced by HR & Recruiting Professionals Task Force.
The Platform has an advisory role, its main objective being the creation of links between the academic and the business environment in Romania. In this direction, the platform aims at bringing together the HR Directors of the most important companies in Romania, the deans of the most prestigious universities and a few representative students’ association in Romania. The ultimate goal is finding the solutions that would converge into ensuring a better insertion of Romanian graduates in the labor market and increase the employability of Romanian students and graduates.
The targeted beneficiaries of this project are Romanian students who complete a undergraduate/graduate program and who will get out of school more prepared to integrate in the subsequent jobs. As result to the students’ better preparation, the companies will also benefit by hiring better prepared people and by investing less money in their training.
