Capital Markets & Financial Services

The Capital Markets&Financial Services Committee aims to provide constructive input to the on-going process of legislation creation and up-date, as well as to promote measures to encourage investments via the capital market.

Current areas of focus on the agenda of the Capital Markets&Financial Services Committe

 

 

  • Support and contribute to the overall development of the Romanian capital market, as well as its recognition as an emerging market
    • foster new listings on the Stock Exchange
    • promote the development of the debt capital market in Romania
    • support the diversification of pension funds` investment policy (to allow them invest in private equity)
    • promote education and awareness regarding stock exchange listing opportunities and the benefits of capital market financing for companies
  • Support the diversification of the financing landscape available to Romanian start-ups and medium-sized companies, with twofold advantages: fostering their growth and increasing the depth of the capital market in Romania
    • foster the implementation of the Growth Market of Bucharest Stock Exchange - a market segment aimed at listing small and medium-sized companies with high growth potential
    • track and foster support schemes from Banca de Investiții și Dezvoltare (BID) and European Investment Bank (EIB).
  • Monitor and assist the expansion of alternative financing solutions, such as crowdfunding and securitization
  • Promote financial education and inclusion initiatives to generate broader societal impact and support the sustainable development of Romania
  • Support and promote alternative financing sources for social projects (e.g., social bonds).
  • Provide input toward strengthening and improving financial sector legislation in Romania, while also promoting the development of best practice guidelines to enhance clarity in key areas where uncertainties persist (e.g., takeover rules and guidelines for listed companies).
  • Foster an active and constructive dialogue with capital market authorities to advance the Committee’s advocacy objectives and support a transparent and predictable regulatory framework.
