On Friday, August 18th, the global index provider FTSE Russell announced the results of its semi-annual review effective from September 18th, 2023. According to the announcement available at this LINK, all 7 Romanian companies included in the Global All Cap indices will maintain their position in indices. These companies are: Banca Transilvania (TLV), Hidroelectrica (H2O), MedLife (M), Nuclearelectrica (SNN), OMV Petrom (SNP), One United Properties (ONE) and Teraplast (TRP).
Romania will be present in the FTSE Global Micro Cap with 6 companies. These companies are: Aquila (AQ), Bittnet Systems (BNET), Bursa de Valori Bucuresti (BVB), Conpet (COTE), Purcari Wineries (WINE) ?i Sphera Franchise Group (SFG). Transport Trade Services (TTS) shares, now included in the FTSE Global Micro Cap indices, will be excluded from these indices, as the company's gross market capitalization exceeded the maximum allowed threshold of the FTSE Global Micro Cap index.
The evolution of the capital market in Romania has been internationally recognized by the global index provider FTSE Russell and, in 2020, Romania was promoted to the Emerging Market status. At the same time, starting with the 1st of September 2023, Romania will be present with 22 companies in the MSCI Frontier IMI, MSCI Romania IMI, MSCI Frontier and MSCI Romania indices of the global index provider, MSCI.
