Filip & Company law firm, alongside the international law firm Linklaters, has provided legal assistance to the banking consortium involved in establishing the Euro Medium-Term Note (EMTN) program, worth up to EUR 1 billion, for Societatea Energetică Electrica S.A., one of the leading players in Romania’s energy sector. Under the program, Banca Comercială Română (BCR), BNP Paribas, Citigroup Global Markets Europe (Citi), ING Bank, J.P. Morgan, and UniCredit Bank were appointed as arrangers and dealers and were joined by BofA Securities Europe, BT Capital Partners, and Société Générale as dealers.

The base prospectus for the program was approved on 29 October 2026 by the Luxembourg Financial Supervisory Authority (Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier – CSSF). Under the program, Electrica will be able to issue successive bond offerings, depending on its financing needs and market conditions, up to a total outstanding nominal value of EUR 1 billion or the equivalent in other currencies.
