The European Patent Office, through its European Patent Academy, and the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (OSIM) have started an Intellectual Property Campaign that will be developed in the Romanian academic environment in partnership with the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), and its scope is to develop the intellectual property culture in the Romanian universities.
This project is a pilot one and is being developed for one year simultaneously in four countries: Spain, Romania, Czech Republic and Turkey.

The goal of the project is to raise and increase awareness on Intellectual Property, promote Intellectual Property culture and Intellectual Property management in universities and expand Intellectual Property in university curricula.

The project includes:
- A contest dedicated to teachers and students in Universities - ¨Don’t give your ideas away¨;
- Regional meetings, whose format will be decided in consultation with the Universities involved in the project;
- A national debate, with representatives of top level academic environment as well as decision makers in the field of Intellectual Property;
- Promotion activities (audio/video spots distributed through the media channels available in Universities and Social Media);
- Participation in various activities conducted in Universities.

"Don’t give your ideas away" is a program designed for teachers and students in the last years of study, master and doctoral students enrolled at universities in Romania. It aims at identifying the main difficulties which companies have to face in their daily activities in terms of Intellectual Property and how these can be opposed through innovative solutions.

Projects will be selected by a panel of intellectual property experts from the EPO, OHIM, and OSIM.

The best projects carried out on "Don’t give your ideas away" program will be rewarded with a visit to the EPO office in Munich and later offered as proposed pilot projects for intellectual property study in universities.
