  • More than half (56%) of ASEBUSS business school alumni, managers and entrepreneurs increased the investment budgets in the companies they manage in 2023 compared with 2022
  • 46% of the surveyed managers allocate more than 10% of the company’s budget to investments, show the results of a survey conducted on a sample of more than 230 ASEBUSS graduates
  • Digital solutions are the priority zero for managers and entrepreneurs when it comes to investments in 2023

“ASEBUSS Investment Index” Survey is a quarterly survey that provides a complex picture of the investment climate in Romanian companies. The first survey was conducted between January 19-February 10, 2023 on a sample of more than 230 alumni or participants who are currently enrolled in the 2 programs: Executive MBA and Entrepreneurial MBA programs.

“Managers and entrepreneurs in Romania learned to calculate the risks of an investment very well, especially in uncertain times for the economy, and this gave them the courage to invest more, because they realized they could not take their business to the next level. And the TOP 3 investment priorities in 2023: digitalization, employee education and improvement of business processed shows that the local leaders took decisions very similar with their counterparts in more developed economies.” Said Prof. Ovidiu Dimbean-Creta, ASEBUSS Rector.

From the total number of respondents who said they increased their investment budget this year compared with 2022, 23% of managers and entrepreneurs said their investment budget represents more than 20% of their company’s total spending in 2023. Also, 23% of respondents stated that investments represent between 10-20% of the total spending budget in 2023. In contrast, a quarter (6%) of ASEBUSs survey respondents said they will allocate less than 5% of the company’s spending budget to investments in 2023.

The ASEBUSS Investment Index is, starting with this year, a quarterly study conducted among business school graduates and students, to show the dynamics of investments made by managers and entrepreneurs and to provide a complex picture of the investment climate in Romanian companies.

The first edition of the study was attended by approximately 230 managers and entrepreneurs from all sectors of activity and from all ASEBUSS series of graduates and students in the Executive MBA and Entrepreneurial MBA programs (1993-2023). Most of the respondents (56%) work in a Romanian entrepreneurial company, while 37% occupy management roles in multinationals.
