We continued meetings with Ministers of the new Government, to share the vision of AmCham Romania members for Romania’s economic recovery and growth. On July 22,  we welcomed the opportunity of a strategic dialogue with the Minister of Investments and EU Projects, Dragoș Pîslaru.

On the leading priorities - NRRP implementation and EU funding, AmCham representatives reiterated the need to accelerate decision-making, simplify procedures, and safeguard available funds, key to addressing Romania’s structural challenges and ensuring long-term economic growth.

AmCham representatives emphasized the urgency of accelerating decision-making and simplifying the NRRP, especially in light of the risk of fund decommitment, and appreciated the open and constructive dialogue with Minister Pîslaru and the MIPE team. It covered topics such as:

• Simplifying NRRP – significantly fewer milestones
• Reinstating a monitoring dashboard & regular progress reviews
• Prioritizing investments in digitalization, health, education & energy infrastructure
• Supporting a stronger governance role for MIPE
• Preparing for post-2027 EU funding priorities
