Wolf Theiss Again Successful at the "European Women in Business Law Awards"

by Wolf Theiss July 14, 2015

For the fifth year in a row, Wolf Theiss has been successful at the "European Women in Business Law Awards". Following the "Best in Austria Award", "Best in Croatia Award" and "Best in Romania Award" in 2014, this year the law firm has again been successful in all three categories.

This is the fifth year that Euromoney Legal Media Group has presented the "European Women in Business Law Awards". The awards honour law firms, which are particularly committed to supporting women lawyers, for example through special programs enabling women to better combine job and family or through initiatives encouraging networking among female lawyers as well as promotion opportunities for female lawyers in the legal profession.
The awards are presented to law firms, who promote the development of women in the legal profession and offer programmes enabling a better work-life-balance. Assessment criteria include for example diversity initiatives, the relationship between female and male lawyers or the number of female partners.

The success in the three national categories "Austria", "Croatia" and "Romania" in 2015 and 2014 follows previous successes for "Austria" in 2012 and 2013, for "Croatia" in 2013, and for "Best national firm for pro bono work" in 2014. This year Wolf Theiss was also shortlisted for "Best in Czech Republic", "Best gender diversity initiative by national firm", "Best national firm for work-life balance", "Best national firm for pro bono work" and "Best national firm for women in business law".
Wolf Theiss lawyers Eva Fischer (Partner; Vienna), Katrin Stauber (Senior Associate, Vienna) and Anna Diblikova (Associate; Prague) accepted the award on behalf of the firm at the European Women in Business Law Awards event held this Thursday in London.

Wolf Theiss Managing Partner Erik Steger, commented: "The Wolf Theiss initiatives in promoting and supporting female lawyers are precedent-setting in the field; the on-going public debate shows the relevance of this topic - therefore, we are particularly proud to have again been recognised threefold in national categories this year and short-listed in a fourth. This highlights that it is not only our largest office in Vienna but also our offices in the region which are setting precedents for fairness and equality. Not only the firm's female lawyers appreciate these efforts, our clients also react extremely positively to these initiatives."
