With a gesture of love you do more good than you think! Redirect 3.5% to World Vision Romania!

by World Vision Romania February 12, 2021

It may not seem a lot, but when 1 in 10 rural children go to bed hungry, when in 80% of households children’s time for learning and homework is sacrificed for housework or farming, you realize that 3.5% does more GOOD than you think!

2020 has affected the entire world, but even more so vulnerable people. Many parents from Romania’s poor villages worked abroad on construction sites, or in agriculture. The pandemic caused the loss of many jobs and the closure of borders, so their poverty exacerbated.

Let’s not lose these children in poverty, but help them succeed and overcome their condition through education, to succeed!

That's why any help is very important, like redirecting the 3.5% of the annual income tax!

3.5% is a fiscal facility granted to individuals that represents a real help for vulnerable children in rural areas that World Vision Romania takes care of through their education programs.

With the help of all sums gathered in 2020 through the 3.5% of the annual income tax, all 1250 children from the "Bread and Tomorrow" program were helped. These children benefited from a hot meal and two hours of homework help each day, as well as participation in summer schools.

How much does 3.5% help?

At a gross monthly salary of 5249 lei, 353 lei represents the income tax.

Of these 353 lei, 3.5% means 12.35 lei per month.

In 12 months, we can receive the amount of 148.2 lei from each person.

Thus, 1 form, calculated at the average income salary means:

• 2 weeks of remedial education (subject recovery) for primary school students

• 4 months of internet connection for continuing school online

• 2 tutoring sessions for high school students

• 1 month’s worth transportation pass for high school students

• 1 hygiene kit for returning to school physically, in safe conditions

How much does it cost you to redirect 3.5%?

It doesn't cost you anything.

The only cost that could occur is the payment of postal services, if you want to send the form by mail to the headquarters of World Vision Romania, on 7 Rotașului Street, sector 1, Bucharest.

Meet Ionut, who needs recovery lessons

Ionut is 11 years old and lives in a single room household. The family does everything they can to provide him with whatever necessary to go to school, but they often have to limit themselves to food and the bare necessities.

When we met Ionuț, he was among the best in his class at Maths, but the current conditions made him lag behind. It's hard to focus on classes when you don't even have an adequate space to study. He will soon start school again, but his only chance of success are recovery lessons.

Ionuț’s only chance is education! Read his story here.

Together we help our friends from World Vision Romania to continue their mission of preventing school dropout rates due to poverty and to help create a better future for tens of thousands of children!
