SIVECO has implemented in the Republic of Macedonia a secure, interoperable and accessible IT customs system for electronic exchange of data contained in customs declarations. The software provides operators multiple technical tools regarding electronic exchange of information with customs authorities and a higher flexibility in customs declarations.

NCTS system consolidates the operational capacity of the Customs Administration of Macedonia, ensures alignment with EU standards and requirements regarding customs transit procedure and also the interoperability with European systems.

The IT system is based on submitting the transit declaration in electronic format, as well as e-mail exchanges between customs offices involved in a national transit operation (departure office, transit office and destination office).Starting January 1st 2015 it will enable data exchange with other customs offices from EU and EFTA countries.

"The new transit system provides simplified electronic procedures for customs formalities clearance and contributse on customs fraud prevention.Operators have multiple advantages, including improved quality of the service, less time in the customs offices and a higher flexibility in submitting the declarations," said Dan Tuhar, eCustoms Line of Business Manager within SIVECO Romania.

NCTS increases the efficiency of the transit procedures, allows fraud prevention and detection, safer and faster operations deployed within a transit procedure. Also, it improves communication and coordination between customs administrations.

The software solution operates as a management and control tool of public transit system. Based on the use of advanced computing systems and electronic data processing, it ensures a modern and a more efficient management than traditional paper management with its proven drawbacks.

The Macedonian Customs Administration is the third beneficiary of eCustoms transit solution from SIVECO Romania, after the Romanian General Customs Authority and Customs Authority from Turkey.

The contract regarding the New Computerized Transit System was awarded through auction to a consortium formed by SIVECO Romania, BOMAS Dooel (Macedonia), STM Savunma Teknolojileri Muhendislik ve Ticater AS (Turkey) and SKILLS EOOD (Bulgaria).
