Emergencies situations from health system are a challenge for any country. Their management involves a quick response from all entities involved in resolving incidents and threats of any kind from medical system.

COnCORDE European project - Development of Coordination Mechanisms during Different Kinds of Emergencies - which runs between May 2014 - April 2017, aims precisely the development of those coordination mechanisms that can be used in emergency situations.

The project aims to improve data management and communication between medical institutions and European organizations involved in emergency situations management. It addresses the need for better organization within hospitals, in terms of allocation of specialists and supply of medicines, medical equipment and transportation. The developed system allows collaboration among entities located in different places that respond to emergencies within certain parameters.

In this project coordinated by Cambridge University Hospitals, UK, SIVECO Romania is the partner in charge of ensuring interoperability between already developed system and other external IT systems which can provide crucial information in emergency situations. Also, SIVECO will manage how to register networking and communication between organizations providing data on emergency situations and external systems.

"The Emergency situations are created by large-scale disasters, causing mass casualties requiring rapid intervention and support resources (ambulances, specialists and medical equipment). Increased demand for such services highlights a greater need for organization of hospitals to respond promptly in such situations. COnCORDE project will develop a decision support system for emergencies situation, which affects the health of the local, regional or cross-border level, "said Monica Florea, director of Research & Development Department, SIVECO Romania.
