PKF Finconta Becomes a Consultant for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)

by PKF Finconta October 4, 2018

PKF Finconta, the audit, accounting and tax advisory company, ranked 7th in CECCAR's top-level firms with accounting expertise, has won the European selection process and entered the list of consultants of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the Financial Management Enhancement Project (FMEP). Besides PKF Finconta, EY and PWC are the other consultants in this project.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development believes that the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is vital for a healthy economy. Through the Financial Management Development Project (FMEP), the EBRD helps SMEs access financing for the consultancy services they need to grow. The following types of services are included in FMEP: 1) financial statement review; 2) accounting consultancy services; and 3) training to enhance the skills of the company’s staff to produce meaningful management reports on the financial status of the company.

”PKF Finconta is a Romanian entrepreneurial company with over 23 years of activity. We have a team of professional consultants and work day by day, mostly with large and medium-sized entrepreneurial firms. So, we understand very well what their financial consulting needs are, we know their challenges and we have the expertise to provide them with the support they need. We are always on the same wavelength with the entrepreneurs, because we also have a similar path. This is why we have done our best efforst to succeed in becoming consultants in this EBRD project. In this way, we want to to continue to contribute to the development of the entrepreneurial businessed in Romania”, says Florentina Șușnea, Founder and Managing Partner, PKF Finconta.

The EBRD will support each assignment through the provision of a grant to cover 75% of the assignment cost, or €20,000, whichever is lower at the end of the project. The EBRD's recommendation is that each consultancy project includes a diagnostic phase, an introduction of new processes phase, and a capacity building phase.

”The Financial Management Development Project (FMEP) is designed by the EBRD to help SMEs develop the best practices relevant to the industry in which they operate and increase the quality of reporting and financial management. The aim of the project is to give SMEs a new level of understanding but also the skills needed to manage their daily financial daily challenges, with emphasis on: working capital management, inventory management, billing policies and payment and internal reporting mechanisms”, says Alina Făniță, CEO, PKF Finconta.
