Starting with November 1st, 2016, Mirela Iordan will take over as Country Manager of Pfizer Romania, thus replacing Nolan Townsend, who has been appointed President of the Rare Diseases division for International Developed Markets.

With over 20 years’ experience in the Romanian pharma industry, Mirela Iordan will lead Pfizer’s local management team, while continuing to focus on the company’s objectives: ensuring Romanian patients have access to the latest and most efficient treatments, as well as collaborating with authorities, medical services providers and beneficiaries to develop the Romanian health system.

„As I come from an area of expertise that places people at the center of any action, I am looking forward to applying the same principles in my new position. As such, my main goal is to ensure that Pfizer Romania will continue and even intensify its support for increasing Romanians’ access to innovative treatments, with the potential to save lives. At the same time, I am ready to work closely with both authorities and patient associations, since I am convinced that only a solid partnership between all players within the health system can enable us all to offer citizens the medical care they need and deserve”, Mirela Iordan, Country Manager Pfizer Romania, says.

Mirela Iordan has been a part of the Pfizer team since 2001 and is the first Romanian woman chosen to lead the company’s local team. Previously, she was HR Director for Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, coordinating a team of human resources professional from 5 Pfizer organizations, as well as the team from the Pfizer production unit in Cluj. Before joining the Pfizer team, Mirela was Sales and Marketing Director at GSK Romania, where she was responsible for implementing marketing strategies for all of the company’s areas of activity.
Mirela graduated from the Constanta Faculty of Medicine and holds a Master in Leadership from INSEAD Fontainebleau, as well an MBA from Tiffin University Ohio. Currently, she is part of the „Pfizer Female Aspiring” program run by the company all across Europe.
