DLA Piper has assisted the leading Norwegian aluminium group Norsk Hydro ASA in the divestment of its Romanian extrusion plant, Hydro Extrusion SRL, to another major player of the sector, Hammerer Aluminium Industries GmbH. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.

DLA Piper support in the transaction mainly consisted in data room asssistance, transactional structuring, drafting the transaction documents and assistance during negotiations of the SPA. The whole process required a cross-practice approach involving Intellectual Property and Competition practices.
