EY announces new partner: Mihaela Sandu appointed partner in the Assurance department

A new partner strengthens the assurance team of EY Romania, the number of partners that are women currently representing 25% of the total number of partners at the local level.

Mihaela Sandu has a professional experience of over 15 years, including 12 years in EY Romania. Mihaela joined the company in 2001 as a junior, promoting to senior, manager, senior manager and executive director until taking up the new position. Over time, Mihaela has been involved in important statutory financial audit projects, audit of financial statements prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and various audits prepared in accordance with other standards such as: financial reporting standards applicable in the U.S. (U.S. GAAP), Germany and France. Also, Mihaela has been involved in due diligence projects and financial consulting, and specializes in services in technology, pharmaceuticals, automotive, construction, media, retail and consumer products.

"My appointment as a partner in the company where I became a trained professional is an important milestone in my career. My new role means responsibility in reinforcing the team, widening customer base in key industries and improving the quality of services for our customers." says Mihaela Sandu.

Mihaela Sandu became a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK and a member of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania in 2005. Also, Mihaela takes an active role in our recruitment, training and ongoing performance development processes. As leader of our Assurance Enablement in Romania, she holds various audit methodology responsibilities.

Globally, EY announced 509 new partners, of which 131 women. In EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India and Africa), EY named 162 new partners, including 34 women.
