Dentons has organized the second edition of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) breakfast seminar, which explores the key practical areas, policies and procedures that need to be deployed to minimize GDPR risk.

The seminar focused on the challenges of GDPR compliance, one year after its implementation. Designed to follow the previous edition of GDPR seminar sessions, the breakfast meeting discussed in detail the practicalities of GDPR implementation and the challenges that need to be addressed by all companies.

Over 20 participants − representatives from companies active in pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, banking, chemicals and consultancy services − attended the event hosted by Dentons’ Managing Counsel Mădălina Constantin.

“Companies should focus on the data mapping phase, which is very significant in the process of compliance with the GDPR requirements; an incomplete or inaccurate image of data categories or data flows may affect the entire process,” said Mădălina Constantin.

The seminar ended with a series of practical questions raised by the participants and discussions over various business cases and scenarios, along with practical solutions that can be implemented by companies.
