Cargill has received an award from A.N.E.I.R. (the National Association of Exporters and Importers in Romania) as largest agri-food exporter in the country. The award was accepted by Martin Schuldt, head of Cargill’s grain and oilseed business in Romania at a ceremony last Friday (18 December) and we feel very privileged to be acknowledged in this manner.

In 2009, Cargill traded more than 1,250,000 metric tones of Romanian agricultural raw materials, in the process helping increase farmers’ incomes, contributing to Romanian GDP and connecting Romanian agricultural raw materials with markets in need of high quality and reliable food staples.

These volumes also highlight Romania’s potential in the food and agriculture sectors in the context of the European Union and more broadly, and the role that Cargill can play in helping this potential be realized.
