Asociația Techsoup addresses a critical need in the nonprofit sector with its upcoming online event: The Cybersecurity Activator for NGOs (March 28-29, 2024). 

Nonprofits face specific cybersecurity risks due to limited budgets, reliance on volunteer labour, and the sensitive nature of the data they often handle. The event is strategically designed to provide practical cybersecurity solutions specifically tailored to the needs of nonprofit staff and volunteers, regardless of their level of tech proficiency. 

In nine online workshops, participants will explore vital topics, including securing remote work, password best practices, mobile device protection, and understanding AI security risks. Additionally, Romanian and US cybersecurity experts will demystify social engineering tactics, online traps, and the often-overlooked importance of cookie policies.

The event is part of the Asociația Techsoup's broader Activator series, a series of initiatives that aim to fast-forward the digital transformation of nonprofits.

The Cybersecurity Activator for NGOs in Romania project is co-financed by the PROTEUS program and carried out by The Transatlantic Foundation in cooperation with the Engaging Central Europe program of The German Marshall Fund of the United States. It also receives partial funding from a U.S. Department of State grant.
