Accenture has named Gianrodolfo Tonielli country managing director for Romania, effective May 1. In this role, Gianrodolfo leads Accenture’s business and operations in the country, working with the local team to grow the company’s capabilities in consulting, digital, technology and operations.
Tonielli succeeds Razvan Patrunoiu, who played a central role in transforming and growing Accenture’s business in Romania. During Patrunoiu’s four years as country managing director, Accenture grew the number of employees in Romania tenfold, to 2,700, and opened three new offices in Timisoara, Iași and Brasov.
Tonielli assumes his new role as country managing director after having held numerous leadership positions within Accenture. Since 2016 he has served as Accenture Technology lead for Romania, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia — a role that he will maintain. He helped establish Accenture’s Applications Solutions practice in Central Europe and served as Applications Outsourcing solution architect lead for Italy, Central Europe and Greece.
Previously, Tonielli served as delivery lead for the company’s Communications, Media & Technology (CMT) operating group and helped establish the CMT SAP delivery center in Milan. He has significant experience working on large-scale programs, shaping deals for clients across various industries and many regions in Europe, the Middle East and Russia.
“I am very excited to lead the highly skilled Accenture team in Romania, while at the same time partnering with clients to help them transform their businesses by innovating at scale,” Tonielli said. “We have many opportunities to further grow our practice here and consolidate capabilities that are key to helping clients with their digital and business transformation efforts.”
