34 Powerful Brands Have Put Romania on Stage At The Superbrands Gala - Romania On Stage

IAA received the honorary Superbrands trophy – Honorary Recognition – awarded in each and every edition of the program


Superbrands Romania launched the sixth Superbrands book for Romania and handed over the Superbrands award trophies, within the Superbrands Gala -Romania on Stage, thus marking the end of the 2013/2014 Superbrands Program edition, dedicated to the recognition of exceptional branding performance.

The prestigious event was held at the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, gathering over 100 high level business representatives, branding specialists, specialized press, other guests of honor from Romania and the Republic of Moldova, as well as this year’s edition Superbrands Council members.

Always, Aqua Carpatica, Ariel, Avon, Bonduelle, Borsec, Cargus, Catena, Cărtureşti, Dacia, DHL, Fairy, Floriol, Furazolidon Terapia, Gerovital, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, Humana, Jolidon, Lidl, JW Marriott, Medlife, Mobexpert, Nivea, Ocean Fish, Orange, Pampers, Persil, Raiffeisen Bank, Rigips, Rom, Scotch Brite, Sensiblu, Unicredit Tiriac Bank are, in alphabetical order, the 34 brands which, among the approximately 300 brands validated as Superbrands in 2013/2014, were on the podium to receive the Superbrands trophy.

The Superbrands Gala’s hosts were the strategic communication agency BDR Associates that, for nearly nine years, has been managing the Superbrands programs for Romania, and Colin Lovering, Managing Director of Achieve International, as the event’s Master of Ceremony. Superbrands trophies were handed over by business personalities, members of the Superbrands Council, including Walter Frield, founding member and President of the Austrian Business Club in Romania, Mrs. Anca Harasim, CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania, Mr. Al Kamara, Founder of Wave Division, and Mr. Corneliu Cojocaru, Senior Communication Adviser at The National Bank.

The Guest Brands section was represented by ArtMark, Business Reviews and Neuhaus, three representative brands for their market segment in Romania.

This year, the Superbrands Honorary Recognition trophy was awarded to the IAA organization (International Advertising Association) for its outstanding success in consolidating an industry that has managed to turn Romanian creativity into a country brand. The trophy was handed over by Mrs. Camelia Şucu, CEO Class Living.

In each and every edition of the program, Superbrands Romania has awarded this honorary trophy to a personality, association/organization, a project or an initiative that has proved outstanding creativity, talent and innovation in promoting the branding culture through an exceptional communication, contributing to the market and society progress in general.

In harmony with the inspirational slogan of the Superbrands event, Romania on Stage, Paula Seling and Ovi, the artists who will be representing Romania at Eurovision, were the Gala guests.

The eligible brands for the Superbrands status were nominated based on the international Superbrands methodology which includes two major stages. During the first stage, the Superbrands Council, composed of 25 experts in management, marketing, communication and branding, provided the qualitative selection of the brands’ list, evaluating 1,395 brands in 52 categories. The criteria taken into consideration in the selection process were reliability, quality and distinction on the market, all these being applied in the Superbrands programs developed all over the world. Following this selection, 578 qualified brands were included in the market research, conducted by Superbrands Romania, in collaboration with IPSOS, on a representative sample of 1,500 Romanian consumers from the urban area. The final results of the research reflect the Romanian consumers’ choices for the 300 brands eligible for the Superbrand status on the Romanian market.

The Superbrands book for Romania, distributed nationally and internationally, represents through the powerful brands that have entered the program, an exceptional tool for promoting the Romanian market potential, providing an objective and reliable reflection of the market trends and behavior of the consumer, more and more interested in quality and respect.
