2015 marks the Seventh Year of AGS’ Commitment to ‘One move = One tree’ Project

by AGS Bucharest October 21, 2015

Trees are close to AGS’ heart, because one of AGS’ longest-running campaigns has been our ‘One move = One tree’ project. This commitment sees AGS sponsoring one tree to be planted for every international removal booked with us.
AGS’ global network includes 129 locations in 83 countries, and we were delighted to announce in 2014 that we had achieved the milestone of over 100 000 trees planted!

2015 also marks the seventh year of AGS’ commitment to ‘One move = One tree’, and through our partnership with Planète Urgence – an international biodiversity NGO – we have planted trees in the environmental focus areas of Mali, Indonesia, Madagascar and Haiti.

Providing green leadership

AGS is also proud to be a signatory of the United Nations’ Global Compact since 2009, which encompasses numerous commitments to sustainable business practices – including environmental sustainability.
One of AGS’ branches responsible for pioneering new environmental initiatives, which will later be rolled out to the AGS Group internationally, is AGS Paris.

As one example, AGS Paris has a goal of decreasing its carbon emissions by 20% by 2020, and is monitoring its carbon footprint. We also revealed in June 2015 that the branch has been certified as AFAQ ISO 14001:2004 compliant – proof that it has implemented an effective Environmental Management System!

AGS Paris is also developing new environmental solutions for the removals industry, including sustainable debris management (post-removal debris is sorted and recycled); reducing the quantity of packing material used and optimizing the efficiency of its removals logistics.
