Vodafone Romania reports the financial results for fiscal year 2017/2018, ended March 31st, 2018

  • Service revenues grew on an organic basis by 2.5% in the year ended March 31st, 2018 as compared to last year, to EUR 723.6 million
  • Customer base expanded by 2.1% YoY, to 9,640,258
  • Mobile ARPU was EUR 6.0 for the year ended March 31st, 2018

Vodafone Romania announces the key performance indicators for the fiscal year ended March 31st, 2018, as reported today by Vodafone Group Plc.

Service revenues for the full year 2017/2018 reached EUR 723.6 million, increasing by 2.5%, compared to last year, on an organic basis.Vodafone Romania had 9.6 million total customers at March 31st, 201 8, representing an increase of 2.1% as compared to last year. Out of the total number of customers, 8.9 million were mobile customers.

At March 31st, 2018, mobile postpaid customers represented 41%, and prepaid customers 59% of the total mobile base. Mobile postpaid base as a percentage of total mobile base increased by 0.3 percentage points as compared to last year.
Data usage increased more than 80% for the year ended March 31st, 2018, compared to last year.
Vodafone Romania’s mobile ARPU was EUR 6.0 over the fiscal year ended on March 31st, 2018, compared to EUR 6.1 in the previous year.

Murielle Lorilloux, CEO Vodafone Romania, stated: “During the last financial year we worked on our key priorities - big data, expanding into home and digitalization. Our users benefited from enriched propositions, improved customer experience across all touchpoints and continuous investment into our network, which led to speed and quality supremacy. Introducing our users to Supernet 4.5G represented a milestone for the entire market and we have seen the number of 4.5G compatible devices increasing monthly since its launch. Last week, we announced our intention to acquire UPC Romania, subject to regulatory approval, which will accelerate our strategy to transform Vodafone Romania into a fully converged communications company.

 The combined business will be able to deliver customers a greater choice of products, services and commercial offers, and will be able to make more investments that enhance the digital infrastructure in Romania.”
