Stratulat Albulescu Attorneys at Law is pleased to announce that effective February 1, Irina Petre joins us as a Partner and Head of our Energy and Projects practice. Irina comes to Stratulat Albulescu Attorneys at Law with a resume that reveals an impressive depth of experience in the fields of energy, projects, and construction law (EPC).
From her earliest years in the fields of energy, projects, and construction law to her most recent work as a solo practioner, Irina has developed a formidable reputation in her chosen practice areas. Serving as counsel to the likes of E.ON Group Companies, GAZPROM Group Companies (Gazprom Export, WIEE AG, WIEE Romania and WIROM) and also various clients regarding European railway infrastructure, Irina also served the Romanian holding company, E.ON Romania for five years as head of the business, legal and compliance department. Afterwards, Irina served E.ON REGENERABILE ROMANIA as a General Director, Member of the Board, and Head of the Legal Department. Therefore for the past 11 years, Irina has counseled the E. ON Group Companies.
Also, starting with 2014, for about two years, Irina worked for Hidroelectrica as the Head of their Legal Department. Previously, as an EPC partner in the Bucharest office of CMS Cameron McKenna, she advised clients such as Strabag, Linde Gas, Wintershall, Bouygues, AGIP, Ruhrgas, Erste Bank, Fresenius Kabi and Fresenius Medical Care. Most recently, as an individual EU expert, she has advised the Serbian Government on drafting and implementing the Comprehensive Railway Reform Project in Serbia.
She received a certification of German law qualification from the University of Trier, and the German Lawyers’ Association, practiced law in various German law offices in 1996-1997 and was on a secondment in the Vienna office of the prestigious law firm Schönherr Barfuss Torggler. She is certified as a German language translator by the Goethe Institute and has translated several legal and psychology books, a skill that will strengthen our German Desk. Along with her native German language, Irina speaks English, French, and Italian, as well as some basic Russian.
