Vodafone Romania reports the financial results for the quarter ended December 31st, 2017

  • Service revenues grew on an organic basis by 2.2% in the quarter ended December 31st, 2017, compared to the same period of last year, to EUR 182.3 million
  • Customer base expanded by 5.2% YoY, to 9,944,595

Vodafone Romania announces the key performance indicators for the quarter ended December 31st, 2017, as reported today by Vodafone Group Plc.

Vodafone Romania had 9,944,595 total customers at December 31st, 2017, representing an increase of 5.2% as compared to the same period of last year. Out of the total number of customers, 9,221,666 were mobile customers.

Vodafone Romania’s mobile ARPU was Euro 6 over the three months ended on December 31st, 2017, compared to Euro 6.1 in the previous quarter. Service revenues for the quarter ended December 31st, 2017, reached EUR 182.3 million, increasing by 2.2%, compared to same period last year, on an organic basis.

At December 31st, 2017, mobile postpaid customers represented 40%, and prepaid customers 60% of the total mobile base, compared to 41% and, respectively, 59% in the same period last year.

Data usage increased by 71% for the quarter ended December 31st, 2017, compared to the same period of last year.

Murielle Lorilloux, CEO Vodafone Romania, stated: “The supremacy of our Supernet™ 4.5G network on both mobile voice and data services, reconfirmed by the latest Best in Test certification, is also recognized by the rising number of customers who choose our services. The last three months of 2017 brought strong increase of our customer base, driven by the growing smartphone penetration, especially on 4G customers, which went up by more than 50% YoY.”

Vodafone Romania has been certified by the independent auditor P3 communications as the Best in Test mobile network in Romania for the overall quality and performance of its data and voice services, for the fourth consecutive year. The operator also achieved the highest score for mobile data services and provides the Best Web Browsing and YouTube Video Performance compared to the other operators.
