Vodafone Romania reports the financial results for the quarter ended September 30th, 2017

• Service revenues grew on an organic basis by 4.1% in the quarter ended September 30th, 2017, compared to the same period of last year, to EUR 186 million
• Customer base of mobile, fixed voice and machine to machine expanded by 4.1% YoY, to 9,754,823, out of which a mobile base of 9,037,191


Bucharest, November 14, 2017 - Vodafone Romania announces the key performance indicators for the quarter ended September 30th, 2017, as reported today by Vodafone Group Plc.


Service revenues for the quarter ended September 30th, 2017, reached EUR 186 million, increasing by 4.1%, compared to same period last year, on an organic basis.


Vodafone Romania had 9,754,823 total customers (mobile, fixed voice and machine to machine) at September 30th, 2017, representing an increase of 386,219 users (4.1%) as compared to the same period of last year. Out of the total number of customers, 9,037,191 were mobile customers.


Vodafone Romania’s mobile ARPU was Euro 6.1 over the three months ended on September 30th, 2017.
At September 30th, 2017, mobile postpaid customers represented 40%, and prepaid customers 60% of the total mobile base. Mobile prepaid base as a percentage of total mobile base increased by 0.4 percentage points as compared to the previous quarter.


Data usage increased by 90% for the quarter ended September 30th, 2017, compared to the same period of last year. During the quarter Vodafone Romania launched Vodafone Pass which allows customers to buy passes that give ‘worry-free’ access to social, video and music applications without using their data allowance.


In addition, Vodafone launched Supernet™ 4.5G recently, providing customers with enhanced optimization for video streaming, stronger built-in security and more bandwidth. Moreover, Vodafone Romania was the first mobile network in the country to have demonstrated speeds in the range of 800Mbps on a commercially launched smartphone. It was also awarded the fastest mobile network in the country, according to the results of more than 250,000 tests run by customers during July-September 2017 using Speedtest® by Ookla®, the worldwide leader in internet testing and analysis.
