AmCham Romania position on the transfer of social contributions from the employer to the employee

by AmCham Romania November 14, 2017

In the context of a company meeting with the Romanian Prime-Minister in his capacity of General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Romania, the position expressed by Jaak Mikkel regarding the company policy to increase the gross salaries of its employees following the social contributions transfer, was also attributed to AmCham Romania, given Mr. Mikkel’s role as President of the organization.

For clarity, please be informed that the statement was made on behalf of Coca-Cola HBC Romania. While AmCham Romania has repeatedly expressed its concerns regarding the many recent fiscal changes and their impact, and while we know that our members will do their best not to affect their employees’ revenues, we understand that each company’s response is ultimately a business decision.

Following the adoption of the Emergency Ordinance to amend the Fiscal Code, AmCham Romania has coordinated its response to the authorities with the peer organizations in the Coalitia pentru Dezvoltarea Romaniei (CDR).
