Vodafone Romania presents a national premiere: the first live radio connection between Romania and the ISS

by Vodafone April 15, 2016

Vodafone Romania is the technology partner of a national premiere: the first live radio connection with an astronaut on board of the International Space Station, broadcasted for all Romanians on Vodafone’s YouTube channel.

“We are proud that our Supernet 4G network, certified for the best results for voice and data and guaranteed for all our users, was the technological pillar for the live broadcast of the first radio connection between Romania and the International Space Station. We are delighted to support a group of talented pupils to communicate in space, beyond any barrier,” said Ravinder Takkar, President & CEO, Vodafone Romania.

The event was organized by the Technical University of Targoviste “Valahia” and Vodafone Romania, under the aegis of the NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Amateur Radio on International Space Station (ARISS).

Vodafone Romania facilitated the contact with the International Space Station for 20 talented pupils, who had a live dialogue via radio with the astronauts on board the ISS.
