PwC Romania launches this year’s edition of the PwC Career-Boosting Game

by PwC March 28, 2016

Up to 150 students and graduates will be selected through this programme

PwC Romania launched this year’s edition of the PwC Career-Boosting Game an innovative approach to the recruitment and selection process based on the gamification concept, which proposes the use of game thinking and game mechanics in a real context, in the business environment. This competition is targeted at students and graduates interested in a career in professional services.

The PwC Career-Boosting Game was launched on March 16th and it will take place up until 12th May. The participants will take part in a dynamic, team-based competition in which they discuss macro and micro-economic topics, will interact on Facebook, will take part in personal development workshops and will get to know first handily PwC professionals, with the help of whom they will complete their projects.

The best teams will be awarded cash prizes and some of the participants could be selected for an internship programme or recruited for junior consultant positions within PwC Romania.

“It is the second year in a row that we organize this competition. Its impact in last year’s recruitment campaign has been very good, with the concept being appreciated both by participants and well as by our colleagues. More than this, it allowed us to meet the candidates’ expectations, in a useful manner that will add value both for the candidates as well as for the organization. The most important lesson for the recruitment process of young graduates is that we have to create a suitable space for interaction, that offers real, substantial opportunities for participant to get to know the team with whom they will work, while also being able to show who they are and what they can do. This game is an excellent opportunity for contact and a substantial dialogues in various situations. And that is something more difficult to attain in a traditional recruitment process. We will for sure invest further in the development of this recruitment concept, as well as in the gamification of the post-hiring process”, stated Ramona Simulescu, the HR Leader of PwC Romania.

“We prepared all sorts of surprises for all participants at the Career-Boosting Game – from meeting with our colleagues and partners, to work visits together with our Assurance and Tax Consulting teams as part of certain projects. Also, we will organize workshops on difference topics of interest for participants, taking into consideration their experience level, as well as games and challenges suitable for the young generation”, added Ramona Simulescu.

The winners of the competition will be announced at an awards ceremony in May, with those selected to be part of the PwC team then joining the firm in September. It is estimated that up to 150 students and graduates will be selected through this programme.

For those that preffer the traditional selection process, PwC has opened all positions that it is seeking candidates. PwC invites all interested candidates to apply online at the www.pwc.com/jobs website, after which, those selected will be invited for tests and recruitment interviews.
