PwC to Host Second Forum on Women and Leadership
Live webcast event with The Confidence Code authors and Google

On Friday 27 February, PwC will host its second global forum to students around the world.

The live webcast is scheduled to take place at 9:30am PT/ 12:30pm ET/ 17:30pm GMT, and is part of the Aspire to Lead: The PwC Women’s Leadership Series, which includes a number of programmes and workshops hosted by PwC that are designed to provide university students and new professionals with the tools to help them build leadership skills.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural webcast with Facebook COO and author of Lean In for Graduates, Sheryl Sandberg, this year’s discussion will feature the authors of The Confidence Code, Katty Kay and Claire Shipman, as well as Eileen Naughton, Leader of Google UK, and Mike Fenlon, PwC Global Talent Leader.

The event will focus on building the confidence to lead. The webcast will also explore PwC’s partnership with the UN Women’s HeForShe campaign and engage men in the movement. The HeForShe campaign aims to mobilise one billion men and boys as advocates and agents of change in ending the persisting inequalities faced by women and girls globally.
To watch the live global webcast or the playback after the event and to register ahead of the event, please visit www.pwc.com/aspire.

Aspire to Lead: The PwC Women’s Leadership Series events will be promoted by PwC in over 30 countries around the world, including in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, the UK, and the US on 27 February and through June. In addition to viewing the webcast, many events will include panel discussions that highlight diverse perspectives and choices, insights into career and leadership development, and work/life and related topics.
Says Dennis Nally, Chairman, PwC International Ltd: “We're excited to collaborate with The Confidence Code authors and with Google to reach students throughout the world. To be a good leader, you need to be confident – and this second ‘Aspire to Lead’ event will offer practical tips to achieve just that.”

Committed to promoting diversity and inclusion, PwC will once again launch new research on millennial women ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March 2015. This follows last year’s report: PwC’s Next Generation Diversity: Developing tomorrow’s female leaders report.

We will also repeat last year’s successful Global Diversity Week, in which thousands of PwC people around the world joined the conversation on how to become even more inclusive leaders. The 2015 Global Diversity Week will take in June. To find out more about diversity and inclusion at PwC, visit www.pwc.com/inclusion.
About The Confidence Code and its authors

In The Confidence Code, journalists Claire Shipman and Katty Kay travel to the frontiers of neuroscience on a hunt for the confidence gene and reveal surprising new research on its roots in our brains. Their investigation leads them to do their own genetic testing, with unexpected results. They visit the world’s leading psychologists who explain how we can all chose to become more confident simply by taking action and courting risk, and how those actions change our physical wiring. They interview women leaders from the worlds of politics, sports, the military and the arts to learn how they have tapped into this elemental resource. They examine how a lack of confidence impacts our leadership, success, and fulfillment.
