On the anniversary of His Majesty King Michael I, pianist Alexandra Dariescu and conductor Tiberiu Soare perform on the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum in the benefit of Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation. Winner of “Woman of the Future” award, Alexandra Dariescu is the first Romanian pianist to hold a concert on the stage of Royal Albert Hall in London, alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

On October 25th 2014, Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation organizes at the Romanian Athenaeum the seventh edition of the extraordinary concert for raising funds in the benefit of Young Talents program. The Royal Concert will be offered by pianist Alexandra Dariescu, alongside the young Orchestra of the Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation, conducted by maestro Tiberiu Soare.

The special guest, young pianist Alexandra Dariescu, will perform on the stage of the Athenaeum a piano concert from Ceaikovski repertoire. Nominated by Forbes magazine as a member of the “30 under 30s” generation, Alexandra Dariescu is considered an exceptional ambassador of classical music. The pianist left Romania at the age of 17, and ever since she has performed on the most important stages of the world, being considered by BBC Music Magazine “a rising star”. In 2013, she performed her debut concert at Royal Albert Hall alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, becoming the first Romanian pianist to perform in this prestigious institution. In the same year, she was granted the “Woman of the Future” award in Arts and Culture category.

The conductor of the orchestra of young musicians and Young Talents scholars is maestro Tiberiu Soare – one of the most valuable and well-known conductors of the young generation. He has been performing as a conductor since 1999, working alongside numerous philharmonic orchestras and opera theatres in the country and taking part in tours in Sweden, Israel, China, Germany, Switzerland, etc. Charismatic, open, brilliant, Tiberiu Soare is the main conductor of the National Radio Orchestra since 2012. He has been conductor of the National Opera in Bucharest (until 2013) and coordinator of the "Ludovic Spiess" Experimental Studio Opera and Ballet.

The previous editions of the Royal Concert enjoyed a remarkable success, making the Athenaeum hall too small to fit all the lovers of classical music and those eager to support Romanian talent. Exceptional artists such as Dan Grigore, Yuriy Tsiple, Nelly Miricioiu, Remus Azoitei, Alexandru Tomescu, Giuliano Carmignola also offered memorable performances for the Romanian public.

The funds raised by the sale of tickets and sponsorship will support the Young Talents 2015 national program, through which the Foundation offers scholarships, mentorship program and opportunities of promotion to young artists in difficult financial situations. A new generation of artists aged between 14 and 24 coming from all over the country will be able to apply for a scholarship in December this year and a prestigious jury of specialty will select the most promising young people in the field of classical music and plastic arts. In the past years, over 170 young plastic artists and musicians have achieved amazing performances with the support of the scholarships, mentorship and promotion ensured by the Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation.
