Clifford Chance: 70 Partners and Counsels Met in Bucharest, Last Week

by Clifford Chance June 2, 2014

Matthew Layton, Global Managing Partner, and Malcolm Sweeting, Global Senior Partner, attended the event

Clifford Chance organized a regional management meeting in Bucharest, last week, with 70 Clifford Chance partners and counsels from Central and Eastern Europe – CEE (the offices in Bucharest, Warsaw, Prague, Kyiv and Moscow), as well as Western Europe (Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Madrid, Milan, Munich and London). The event was also attended by the two global leaders Matthew Layton, the new Global Managing Partner, and Malcolm Sweeting, Global Senior Partner.

The Clifford Chance partners discussed the regional strategy, the promotion of new partners, the challenges and opportunities the Firm sees in the region, as well as the means to effectively cover it.

"We were honoured by the presence of Matthew and Malcolm at this meeting, as well as by the impressive presence of colleagues from CEE and the West-European offices. As one of the strongest law firms in the region, Clifford Chance continues to strengthen its foothold through the combined efforts of its offices. Considering the challenges our clients face, as well as the dynamics of a globalized economy, it is essential that we intensify the cooperation among national teams and that we remain flexible to the needs of companies we assist," Daniel Badea, Managing Partner of the Bucharest Clifford Chance office, said.

Clifford Chance is one of the most important law firms in the world, with 36 offices in 26 countries and 3,300 professionals. The network has over 250 lawyers in the region in Bucharest, Istanbul, Kyiv, Moscow, Prague and Warsaw.
