Andrei Benghea-Malaies has joined Ernst & Young Romania as Executive Director and Head of the Performance improvement team. In this role, Andrei will support the company’s efforts to expand the client portfolio and range of services offered by the Advisory department.

“I am glad to return to the professional services field by joining Ernst & Young. It is an important step in my career and I am looking forward to help EY deliver outstanding value to its partners in even more and diverse topics. The experience I have gathered so far, in management consulting and executive/non-exec positions, will offer an enriched perspective for the business advisory services we offer on the local market ", Andrei said.

Andrei has 10 years of experience in professional services working for McKinsey in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe, as well as later with Rennaissance Advisors as a founding partner. Andrei also had a consistent activity in the public sector, as Head of Cabinet for Ministry of Public Finance and appointed board member for the National Printing House, the National Lottery, CFR and Romaniafilm. Later he served as non-executive board member at Transelectrica, the Romanian Power Grid Company, appointed by the Property Fund. Before joining EY, Andrei Benghea-Malaies served briefly as Chief Executive Officer of Transelectrica.

“We see an increasing need for integrated advisory services from our clients, mainly due to the challenges on the market, but also due to the limited financing solutions. In this context, Andrei will contribute to optimizing and diversifying our advisory services, by further integrating the market offering at the level of expertise areas with the experience in our priority industries,” said Saulius Adomaitis, Partner and Head of Advisory Services, Ernst & Young Romania.

“The professional services market is continuously evolving, together with the changes and trends we see in major local and regional industries. We have chosen to develop our Advisory services by employing solutions for the performance improvement of our clients’ businesses, both from a functional perspective and from an industry one. Andrei will therefore, contribute to the multi-disciplinary effort through which we respond to our clients’ needs and to an increasingly dynamic market”, added Bogdan Ion, Country Managing Partner, Ernst & Young Romania.

Andrei holds an MBA diploma from INSEAD and has graduated the Business Administration in Foreign Languages Faculty at the Academy for Economic Studies, Bucharest.
