AmCham Romania is pleased to invite members to a special edition of the Thanksgiving Day event, an occasion to look back with gratitude to the 30 years of freedom that Romania is celebrating this coming December.
Our special guests will be Emil Hurezeanu (former journalist of Radio Free Europe and current Romanian Ambassador in Germany) and Ion Caramitru (actor and Director of the National Theatre in Bucharest), two active participants and witnesses of the 1989 events, who will share their unique insights from both sides of the Iron Curtain and from living in the post-communist Romania. The discussion will be moderated by Sever Voinescu, Editor-in Chief of Dilema Veche Magazine.
In opening the event, the AmCham President Ionuț Simion will drive us through significant milestones in Romania’s transition from a communist country, to an EU and NATO member, to what it is today and to what it will hopefully be in 5-10 years from now.
Our invitation is to not take freedom and democracy for granted and to understand our generation’s responsibility for safeguarding it through our everyday individual and business actions.
Each AmCham member is welcome to come accompanied by their plus one, including youngsters in your families that could benefit from this encounter with Romania’s recent history.
A Thanksgiving cocktail will follow.
Participation is complimentary, based on prior confirmation online here by EoD November 25, 2019.
The event will be held in Romanian. Translation into English can be provided upon request.
